'I Renounced my Children as Aforesaid': A Consensual Divorce of 369

Abstract
  • This article offers the edition of a divorce settlement of 369 housed in the British Library. The papyrus is one of the few fourth-century deeds of divorce. In addition to the standard clauses found in such settlements, provisions for the care of the minor children of the ex-couple are also made.
