This presentation provides an overview of the COPIM (Community-led Open Publication Infrastructures for Monographs) project (https://www.copim.ac.uk/), which is dedicated to the creation of robust and resilient infrastructures, workflows, business models, governance structures, and reuse and preservation strategies for the publication of open access books. It will focus on how we can improve the diversity in the scholarly publishing landscape by addressing the hurdles that stand in the way of new and existing, not-for-profit and scholar-led presses publishing books openly. It will also outline how we can improve the engagement with books in the Humanities and Social Sciences by publishing openly and by stimulating reuse and uptake of our books and book collections.
