  • The file consists of the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) text in XML format for one year of The Press. The full digitised newspaper comprises 7 May 1853-25 December 1858. The years January 1859-July 1866, when the title ended, have not been digitised as yet. The digitised page images are available on the British Newspaper Archive website, https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/titles/press-london.  The British Newspaper Archive pages images are behind a paywall, but in 2021 the paywall is expected to be lifted for this title and eventually all the newspapers we are digitising under the Heritage Made Digital programme.
