Abstract
The Liverpool Standard and General Commercial Advertiser (1832-1856, with two changes of title) was a Conservative newspaper established by local politicians to counter the rise of Radicalism and promote “Church and State” ideology.
The file consists of the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) text in XML format for one year of the The Liverpool Standard etc. The full digitised newspaper comprises three separate titles: Liverpool Standard and General Commercial Advertiser (23rd November 1832- 27th June 1854); Liverpool Standard and General Advertiser (4th July 1854-12th June 1855); Liverpool Standard and General Commercial Advertiser (19th June 1855-4th March 1856).
