This dataset contains full text and metadata after processing by the Alto2Text pipeline created by the Living with Machines Project. The pipeline took as its input the highly verbose AltoXML files of the same newspaper titles and converted them into the more readable plain text format for the benefit of readers and researchers. It contains plaintext for one year of Dorset County Express and Agricultural Gazette. The full digitised newspaper comprises no.118, etc. (5 Jan.1858 - 11 May 1886) The digitised page images are available on the British Newspaper Archive website, https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/titles/dorset-county-express-and-agricultural-gazette The British Newspaper Archive pages images are behind a paywall, but from March 2021 the paywall will be lifted and some of these images will be eventually free to view. The period before 1858 has yet to be digitised.
