The file consists of the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) text in XML format for one year of the Colored News. The full digitised newspaper comprises no.1-9 (4 Aug. - 29 Sept.1855). The digitised page images are available on the British Newspaper Archive website, https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/titles/colored-news The British Newspaper Archive pages images are behind a paywall, but from March 2021 the paywall will be lifted for these titles and eventually all the newspapers we are digitising under the Heritage Made Digital programme.
