This dataset contains full text and metadata after processing by the Alto2Text pipeline created by the Living with Machines Project. The pipeline took as its input the highly verbose AltoXML files of the same newspaper titles and converted them into the more readable plain text format for the benefit of readers and researchers. It contains plaintext for one year of Warrington Examiner. The full digitised newspapers comprises 24 Apr.1869 - 10 Jul.1869, 2 Apr.1870 - 23 mar.1878 (The Warrington Examiner) 24 May.1879 � 29 Dec.1894, 7 Jan.1899 � 27 Feb.1909 (The Warrington & Mid-Cheshire Examiner.) The period 1910 - 1959, after which the title ended, has yet to be digitised. The digitised page images for years 1869 - 1909 are available on the British Newspaper Archive website, https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/titles/warrington-examiner The British Newspaper Archive pages images are behind a paywall, the current dataset comprises 1869 - 1909. The newspaper continued until 1909, but this has not been included in the dataset due to copyright considerations
