Abstract
Denton and Haughton Examiner was a weekly newspaper which has been digitised by the British Library for the Living with Machines project. Variant titles are 1873-74 The Denton, Haughton, & District Weekly News. 1874-75 Denton & Haughton Weekly News, and Audenshaw, Hooley Hill, and Dukinfield Advertiser, 1875-78 Denton Examiner, Audenshaw, Hooley Hill and Dukinfield Advertiser, 1878-92 Denton and Haughton Examiner, etc.

This dataset contains full text and metadata after processing by the Alto2Text pipeline created by the Living with Machines Project. The pipeline took as its input the highly verbose AltoXML files of the same newspaper titles and converted them into the more readable plain text format for the benefit of readers and researchers. It contains plaintext for one year of Denton and Haughton Examiner. The full digitised newspapers comprises no.63-104 (The Denton, Haughton, & District Weekly News.), 105-199 (Denton & Haughton Weekly News, and Audenshaw, Hooley Hill, and Dukinfield Advertiser), 200-321 (Denton Examiner, Audenshaw, Hooley Hill and Dukinfield Advertiser), 322-1121 Denton and Haughton Examiner, etc.( (5 Jun.1873 - 20 Mar.1874, 27 Mar 1874 - 15 Oct.1875, 23 Oct.1875 - 23 Feb.1878, 2 Mar.1878 - 6 Aug.1892).
