Abstract
A transcript of an exchange of two letters printed in The Times newspaper 30-31 July 1866. The first, from Sydney Smirke, asserts his role as architect of the circular Reading Room in the British Museum. The second, a reply from Antonio Panizzi, responds to the first letter.
