The British Library and the Development of Information about Romania in Britain

This paper will explore the evolution of information about Romania in Britain alongside the growth of Romanian-interest collections at the national library. My particular focus is on how news about Romania has been presented in Britain over time and the types and origins of Romanian materials available to researchers and users of the British Museum Library (BML), the British Library's predecessor (established in 1973). The primary aim is to determine the library's role in shaping knowledge about Romania in Britain.
