Abstract
This article reports the contents of nine volumes of the correspondence of Lord Nelson in press copy letter books (BL. Add. MSS 34952-34960). Of these 1099 letters, written from 1796 to 1805, 593 are unpublished. Largely private or personal letters to family, friends and naval colleagues and official letters concerning secret or sensitive matters, such as intelligence, diplomacy or operations, they constitute a significant find.
