Abstract
The custom of providing each year a brief descriptive survey of some of the more interesting and important books acquired by the Department of Printed Books, has been discontinued for a number of years. The ensuing article marks its revival by listing in all a little over one hundred items of the STC period which came into the Library between March 1964 and February 1975. Subsequent articles will list items of the periods 1640-1700 and 1701-1800; thereafter it is intended to issue, as before, annual summaries of acquisitions made by the Department in the field of English books 1501-1800.
