Abstract
Unlike Venice, Florence, or Paris, London has never been one of the major centres of Greek printing. The vast majority of Greek books printed in England during this period were devoted to the classical Greek writers, the Bible, the Church Fathers, Church history or religious controversy. There were, however, two periods - the fIrst half of the seventeenth century and the nineteenth century - during which the output of Greek books presents special interest either because of the circumstances of its production or its variety.
