Abstract

Prayers and meditations (the ‘Prayerbook of Princess Elizabeth’) In December 1545, King Henry VIII was presented with this carefully embroidered volume as a New Year’s gift. The prayer book had been assembled by his twelve-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, who would herself ascend to the throne in 1558.
